Explore the Wonders of Nature
I'm Trond Johansen, a nature and wildlife photographer and filmmaker based in Sarpsborg, Østfold, Norway. My passion for capturing the beauty, atmosphere and power of wildlife, landscapes and northern lights began in childhood, exploring forests, waters and observing how light transforms the natural world.
Nature is not just my inspiration; it is where I find peace, purpose and space to reflect on life. Every photo I take is an opportunity to connect deeper with the world around me and share that connection with others.
Over the years, my photography and filmmaking have evolved from documenting nature to exploring atmosphere, light, movement and the relationship between people and the natural world. I am drawn to northern lights, fog, storms, wildlife and landscapes where nature feels powerful, unpredictable and alive.
Through photography and videography, I document Norway’s breathtaking fjords, mountains, wildlife and magical northern lights, with a special focus on the majestic osprey, known as fiskeørn in Norway. Conservation is at the heart of my work, and as an active member of BirdLifeInternational, I support efforts to protect vulnerable species.
My journeys have also taken me beyond Norway, capturing the unique cultures, landscapes and traditions of Tibet, the Himalayas and Iceland.
Tibet Photography, Culture and Himalayan Stories
In Tibet and the Himalayas, I have documented Tibetan Buddhism, ancient monasteries, the Naxi minority and the deep wisdom of people living close to nature.
Nature is more than a subject — it is a way of life. Inspired by Tibetan Buddhists and indigenous cultures, I aim to tell stories that highlight the importance of conservation, mindfulness and respect for our planet.
