Contrasts in nature – time, light, movement and atmosphere
As a photographer and filmmaker, I search for moments where nature feels alive. It can be dramatic light before a storm, fog moving across a landscape, northern lights above the night sky, calm water, dark forests, powerful waterfalls, or small details that suddenly become meaningful.
I am inspired by the contrasts in nature – between calm and unrest, darkness and light, silence and movement. Sometimes the subject is powerful and dramatic. Other times it is quiet, subtle and almost poetic.
Several of my images are created with long exposures, planning and creative use of light. I often work with a combination of natural light and artificial light, where everything must be balanced so the atmosphere feels right.
Some images may almost look like double exposures, but they are often one long exposure where the subject, movement, darkness, natural light and artificial light must all harmonize. For me, this is where technique, nature and feeling meet in the same moment.
Through this work, I want to create images with atmosphere, presence and a more artistic expression – from northern lights at Tunevannet in Sarpsborg and stormy seascapes at Hvaler, to waterfalls, volcanoes, wildlife and powerful nature experiences
